The two companies have set their sights on 2027 for the launch of their inaugural vision sensing module, which will incorporate an inertial sensor. This innovative system is designed to merge visual, motion, direction, and auditory data, enhancing a robot’s ability to perceive and react to its surroundings. A significant facet of this development is its potential to minimize image distortion resulting from movement, thereby improving the accuracy and responsiveness of robotic systems.

Alongside the vision module, LG Innotek and TDK are also dedicated to developing a tactile sensing module that mimics the functions of human skin. This technology is expected to enable robots to sense touch and pressure with heightened sensitivity through their extremities and bodies. The tactile module, which is being crafted to enhance the physical interaction capabilities of robots, is also slated for completion in 2027.
